Booking a haircut and facial shave does not tell your barber which parts of your beard you want to keep. At HIRO GINZA PREMIUM BARBER Taipei, start the consultation with the areas you do not want changed. Use this checklist to discuss your beard, brows and sideburns separately, rather than relying on “just tidy it up.”

Company-provided photograph of a facial-shaving service, shown for illustration. Agree on the areas to be treated before the service begins.
1. Point out the beard you want to keep
Use the mirror to show the shape, length and edges you want to retain. If you bring a reference photo, identify the particular feature you like; the whole photograph does not have to be a target to copy.
Keeping the beard and tidying around it is a different request from shortening the beard itself. Try: “Please keep the length here and confirm the surrounding areas with me before tidying them.” Ask which services and areas can be accommodated, and confirm the price.
2. Give brows and sideburns their own instructions
Brows: say whether you want to keep the current thickness, retain the brow tails or discuss options before changing anything. Brow trimming being included in a course does not mean your brows must become thinner or more sharply defined.
Sideburns: agree on the lower edge, width and whether to preserve the connection to your beard. Point to the boundary in the mirror. A request for shorter hair at the sides should not leave everyone guessing about changes to the sideburns or beard.
3. Mention areas to avoid before starting
Tell the barber about any discomfort that day, areas you do not want touched or previous uncomfortable experiences with products. Discuss changing or postponing the service rather than feeling obliged to follow the original plan.
If a boundary is still unclear, leave it unchanged until you have agreed on it. This checklist is for discussing service preferences, not for diagnosing skin conditions or promising treatment effects.
A six-line note to bring to your consultation
Beard areas and length to keep: ____
Surrounding areas I would like to discuss tidying: ____
Brow thickness and tails I want to retain: ____
Sideburn lower edge, width and connection to beard: ____
Areas I do not want touched today: ____
Services, total price and time to confirm before starting: ____
For example: “Please keep my beard length and check the outer edges with me first. Keep my brows at their current thickness, and leave the connection between my sideburns and beard.” Then confirm what the barber can provide.
Booking a full course with a haircut and facial shave
For a haircut and grooming in one visit, check the Taipei shop’s men’s full course. The first-visit price is NT$2,520, the regular price is NT$2,800, and the estimated duration is about 60 minutes.
The course includes a haircut, shampoo, facial shaving and brow trimming, facial exfoliation, a face mask, a shoulder and neck massage, and blow-drying and styling. This is the full-course price, not a standalone shaving quote. If you want only part of the service, a specific beard-design service or additional treatments, confirm availability, pricing and total time first. Do not assume a discount or that every request is included.
If you have no preferred barber, select “ご指名のないお客様” (no stylist preference) when booking. First-time customers requesting Ryosuke Ito pay an additional NT$500 stylist-request fee. All prices are in New Taiwan dollars. Confirm the service scope and first-visit conditions when reserving.
