A shaved line or pattern can remain visible as it grows, especially when it sits beside longer hair. If you now want a simpler haircut, show the entire design before choosing a new fade height. Removing all visible contrast immediately may require taking surrounding hair shorter than you intended.
Discuss whether you prefer a shorter reset or a gradual transition over future cuts. Check where the pattern sits relative to the shape you want to keep. The barber can assess what is realistic with the current length. A staged plan may leave some evidence of the old design for a while, but it can preserve more of the haircut you are growing towards.
