When styling product sits only on the top layer, the surface may look finished while the hair underneath moves differently. Ask your barber how they distribute the chosen product through the sections that need it. This should be demonstrated with the amount and finish relevant to your hair.
What to discuss with your barber
At home, slow the application down enough to notice where your fingers are reaching. More product is not automatically the next step when a section resists. You may need a clearer distribution method or a better starting direction. For a business haircut, an even application can be part of a straightforward routine, provided the barber explains where coverage matters and where the hair can be left alone.

The Signature Grooming Course is AUD150, with a first-visit option at AUD120. It includes consultation, haircut, shampoo, hot towel, Japanese facial shaving, shoulder and neck massage, and styling. Confirm additions and the total before booking. For straight, coarse or dense hair that resists movement, ask whether an iron perm is suitable. Perm courses start at AUD250 including haircut and shaving. Iron perms are not recommended on bleached hair; other perm techniques should be confirmed at consultation.
