If your hair looks separated into heavy sections in photographs, identify whether you dislike the shine, the grouping or the overall shape. These are different observations, and each leads to a more precise conversation.
What to discuss
Bring an ordinary photo taken in the lighting you usually see at work. Explain how much product you used and whether the hair was dry. Ask your barber to demonstrate a smaller starting amount and show the areas that need product most. More product is not automatically the route to a neater outline.
Plan your appointment
Do not choose a stronger perm solely to compensate for a finish you have not yet learned to style. Discuss the haircut, drying and product together, then decide whether a chemical service answers a separate movement problem. Products should be chosen for your actual hair and preferred result.
