A holiday can change the way you care for your hair. Before booking an iron perm, consider whether your usual drying tools and products will be available where you are staying.
What to discuss
Tell the barber how soon you travel and whether the holiday involves swimming, hats or very little time for styling. Ask which parts of the proposed look depend on a dryer and which can be arranged with your fingers. Avoid scheduling a major change so tightly that you have no opportunity to learn the routine.
Plan your appointment
Request clear service-specific aftercare rather than assuming every beach activity has the same guidance as shampooing. We allow shampoo on the treatment day and advise avoiding the sauna that day. Advice about other activities should be clarified separately. The objective is a practical travel hairstyle, not a guarantee that weather or water will never change it.
Perm courses start at AUD250 including haircut and shaving. Confirm the technique, suitability, quote and required time before booking. Iron perms are not recommended on bleached hair. Written by Rika Kano, HIROGINZA Sydney.
